Vinyl Lined Steel Wall In Ground Pools

There’s a lot more to a pool than water. A new pool is also one of the biggest investments you will make outside of your home itself. St. Lawrence Pools has proudly been the area’s exclusive dealer and builder of the “Fox Pool” for decades and with many good reasons for you the consumer to feel confident in when you select a Fox vinyl lined steel wall pool.

One Company One Quality Control

Fox Pools has been manufacturing vinyl lined steel walled swimming pools and pool components since 1957 and is still privately owned over 50 years later. Over the years, as they grew, they acquired dealers to support their goal of bringing consumers a product with the highest possible standards in the industry. This means one company, one quality control. Other swimming pool installers buy components from different manufacturers and/or distributors. The components of their pools have not been engineered as a system. Fox Pools does not rely on other companies for structural components and has been manufacturing and serving the same brand pool for over fifty years, and no other company can make that claim.

Why Fox is the “strongest name” in vinyl lined steel walled pools

X-Brace Technology

Fox pools use some of the same technology used in building bridges, tall buildings, water towers and other structures that require high strength due to high stresses. Your swimming pool holds thousands of gallons of water while holding back thousands of pounds of earth. In order to ensure structural integrity over many years it’s important that your pool walls will remain intact regardless of external forces. With the Fox X-Brace technology you get just that. Patented by Fox, the X-Brace structure provides 100% support for your pool walls without concern for internal or external pressures.

X-Brace Details

  • Pool panels are supported every 4 feet by the patented Fox X-Brace
  • The X-Braces are bolted to panels using heavy duty corrosion resistant bolts
  • Steel rods and “S” hooks anchor the X-Brace and the pool wall to the ground
  • A concrete footer or foundation is poured around the perimeter of the pool
  • Reinforcing rods and X-Braces are now consolidated into a permanent “foundation”
  • Pool can be backfilled with or without water
  • More reinforcing rod is added to connect the top of the X-braces to the deck structure
  • The concrete deck encapsulates the X-braces and reinforcing rod to form a unitary structure
  • Backfill settles over time forming a thermal barrier between the deck and the ground
  • Frost upheaval is eliminated

The Benefits of the Fox X-Brace

  • Self-supporting structure at all times
  • Your pool deck can be poured immediately without waiting for the ground to settle
  • Eliminates frost upheaval
  • The pool can be drained without worry of collapse
  • The pool retains it’s original shape, protecting your investment
  • The Fox X-Brace technology is backed by an independent engineering report that proves the Fox X-Brace structural integrity is as we claim.

FoxGard, a Proven Process

Superior Corrosion Resistant Walls
The FoxGard® process of powder coating is used in a variety of other applications where superior corrosion resistance is required. Everyday items like outdoor furniture, electrical and metering devices that endure constant weathering conditions, stadium seats, and other outdoor recreational devices employ powder coating protection. Stringent military specifications call for powder coating to protect some of the most sophisticated equipment they use. Fox has so much confidence in our FoxGard products that they warrant them against corrosion the life of the original homeowner. See our warranty for details.

The FoxGard process

  • Fox galvanized panels are loaded onto the conveyor
  • Acid wash cleans contaminants from steel surface prior to coating
  • Electrostatic rinse charges panels to accept charged powder coating particles
  • Panels are dried before coating
  • Panels receive powder coating
  • Coating is bonded to the panels in the oven
  • Finished panels are removed from the line
  • Panels are nested into one another to help protect them during transportation
